We are a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and promoting West Coast Swing dancing on the beautiful Island of Oahu in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Hosted at the PALLADIUM, 2nd FLOOR of the Ala Wai Golf Course Clubhouse, 404 Kapahulu Ave., Honolulu, HI 96815.
Dancers of all ages are welcome, as it is an alcohol-free location!
Please put these WEST COAST SWING dance dates, (USUALLY on SUNDAYS), on your calendar!
Beginner lessons by Aaron and Lorrie
Intermediate lessons by Bree and Nick
Note that the city schedules the Palladium in 6-month intervals and final confirmation of dates will likely not occur until the final preceding month.
West Coast Swing dance - Membership/experience/partner not required!
Annual Memberships are $20 and provide a discount on dance entry. Join now!
The city opens its doors for us at 5:00 PM. Admission is $5 for members or $10 for non-members. Non-members will need to sign the annual waiver, which can be done ahead of time (see below).
Start with a lesson to get you started and help fine-tune your skills, then have fun with us on the dance floor with music to dance mostly West Coast Swing, plus some Night Club 2 Step, East Coast Swing, and Hustle.
Wavier/Membership Requirement: We strongly encourage you to buy your annual membership or sign the annual waiver of liability (for non-members) now to save time.
NO FOOD OR OPEN BEVERAGE CONTAINERS are allowed on the dance floor per the facility owners. Sealed water bottles are permitted. Any food or other beverages must be kept and consumed at the tiled entrance or outside the doors. A water fountain is available by the restrooms. Dance wax and powder are not allowed on the dance floor (it's an amazing floor). Thank you for your compliance and for helping maintain our facility's high quality.
The dress standard is typically a fairly casual night out. Examples can be seen on this website and our Facebook Group page. Shorts are perfectly acceptable and more comfortable on warmer days, though perhaps not the norm. Best not to come straight from the beach as this is a close-quarters (aromatic environment) body contact (think blouse or shirt) activity.
Suede-soled (ballroom) shoes are best and preferred. Leather-soled or other smooth-bottomed shoes that can pivot can work well. It is best to avoid shoes that do not have a heel or ankle attachment, such as sandals. Tennis shoes while non-ideal, are perfectly acceptable especially when new and trying things out. Ballroom shoes can be purchased at various places online, or the Arthur Murray dance studio at the Ala Moana Mall has a limited selection of women's shoes available.
Become a member and enjoy half-price entry to all of our dances for the duration of your membership! Your membership is valid for one year. For your convenience and to save time at the door, you may join now.
(Required for Non-Members)
Membership includes a Waiver of Liability acceptance. If not a member we will require you to accept the stand-alone Waiver of Liability. To save time at the door, you may accept it now. It will be valid for one year and submission is required for each attendee.
Click the "Learn About It" link to get an overview of what West Coast Swing is all about, see some videos of West Coast Swing in action, and discover some instructional videos on how to build your West Coast Swing skills.
Your entry fees can now be paid using PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, tapping your credit/debit card, or swiping your credit/debit card (through Square).
Don't worry, we still accept cold, hard cash.
Dances are held at the Ala Wai Palladium, on the 2nd floor of the Ala Wai Golf Course Clubhouse. A map can be found at the bottom of this page.
Take the short access road, alongside the Waikiki Public Library, straight into the FREE PARKING lot. Then, go UP to the huge WOOD 2nd-floor ballroom. The Palladium has the largest dance floor here in the islands with 11,000 square feet for the full ballroom. In case you're lost, a security guard will be on the premises.
Other organizations hold dances, lessons, or even practice sessions at the Palladium. Visit Dance Fever Oahu to see the currently publicized Palladium dance-related schedule.
